This page is documenting the outcomes and continuity of IDDS AMAZON, which started in 2015 when we started planning a two-week ecological design-themed summit. It brought together 40 participants from all over the world and with different backgrounds to co-create innovative solutions with local community members of fishing and farming communities along the river banks of the Amazon River in northern Brazil.

IDDS AMAZON was part of a series of summits supported by the International Development Innovation Network (IDIN). The summit’s goal is to, through social innovation, foster low-cost technologies, ecological systems and enterprises that improve the livelihoods and well-being of people, in harmony with nature and aware of the interdependency between organisms, human and the environment, based on ecological design principles.
